Search For Meetings
There are more than 700 AA groups in BC/Yukon Area 79. To find the meeting best suited to you, you can search by map, community or district. Whichever method you use, you will be taken to one of 47 District pages where meetings are listed for the community of your choice, as well as meetings in some neighbouring communities.
Meetings are listed here at the group's own request. A listing does not constitute or imply approval or endorsement of any meeting's approach to, or practice of, the traditional AA program.
There are many different types of meetings available in Alcoholics Anonymous. For ease of reference, the following codes are usually used for meetings:
Closed meetings are for AA members
only, of for those who have a drinking problem and "have a
desire to stop drinking".
Open meetings are available to anyone interested in Alcoholics Anonymous' program of recovery from alcoholism. Non-alcoholics may attend open meetings as observers.

There are meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous all over the world. To find meetings outside of Area 79, visit the A.A. World Services Website.
SINGLENESS OF PURPOSE AND PROBLEMS OTHER THAN ALCOHOL
Some professionals refer to alcoholism and drug addiction as "substance abuse" or "chemical dependency". Non-Alcoholics are, therefore, sometimes introduced to AA and encouraged to attend AA meetings. Anyone may attend open AA meetings, but only those with a drinking problem may attend closed AA meetings.
